I THOUGHT

I thought I was great,
But I was so wrong.
Relied on my fate,
Sang a different song.

I thought I was good,
But I was mistaken.
Saying I always could,
But time has forsaken.

I thought I could fly,
But all I did was sigh.
My life is passing by,
Should I cry?

Thought I was strong,
But then I am so weak.
Relief is what I long,
Comfort is what I seek.

Why can’t things go,
The way I like them so?
The self I only had,
How can things go so bad?

All I did was fool,
Sadness I could not show,
Destiny was cruel,
This here earth ought to know.

Now I wait here,
Sinking in my sorrow.
Heart I hold dear,
But is there tomorrow?
